Shannon is a professional cat herder; or that is to say, she works in support, as part of the lead team for a successful company that she won’t be naming, lest she find herself shit-canned for blowing off steam now and then. While cat-herding pays most of her bills, Shannon is also HBIC (and sole “employee”) of an endeavor of the artistic variety. Ask her nicely, she may tell you exactly what that means. She might not, though, because it is infinitely weird and difficult to explain to the uninitiated.
When Shannon isn’t hard at work (which is almost never), she enjoys spending time with her better half, Alex. Gaming together, streaming together on Twitch, or just chilling out and watching movies, or the tiniest handful of television series. She’s unlikely able to discuss the latest episode of whatever popular thing you’re into, but she can probably tell you anything you want to know about “Doctor Who”, “Lucifer”, “Supernatural”, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Charmed” (the original), and perhaps “Game of Thrones”. Everything else television wise is rather off her radar, which is not to suggest your favorite show isn’t good. She’s sure it is.
Shannon is an INFP-T according to the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator, and a “2, 6, 9” according to the Enneagram Test. Any of this make sense to you? Does any of it matter all that much? :) Shannon is funny, smart, nerdy, and (mostly) kind. She loves to help people, and to make others happy; she is quick to lose patience with the unkind or willfully ignorant, though. Shannon is passionate about helping and a diligent worker, although she is sometimes “flighty”, and switches back and forth from one project to another. She especially loves being able to help someone solve a problem, which is what makes her excellent at customer support! Shannon is not trying to get you to hire her, though. She is exceedingly happy with her job!
Outside of helping people and her work, Shannon also loves: red pandas. Books. Games. She is an avid reader, and considers herself very much a “word nerd”. She loves to draw, sketch, paint. She attended both art and technical schools, and although she is very satisfied to have done so, did not wind up being the game developer/texture artist she once dreamed of being. Shannon also loves to write, which is the primary reason that she keeps this blog. She does this more for herself than anyone else, so if you have not been entertained, that’s okay; she’ll keep doing her thing while you go do yours.
More than anything else in the world, Shannon loves her husband and best friend, Alex. Alex and Shannon met in the weirdest and most unlikely of circumstances, on the web site Imgur. They were 4000 miles apart when they met (and, due to immigration law, are still more often than not 4000 miles apart), but they shared a very special connection, very quickly. Alex came to visit Shannon shortly after meeting, and five years later, they are as much in love as ever. Due to more freedom with work (as she works remotely), Shannon has been to the UK far more frequently than Alex has been to the US.
As mentioned previously, Shannon loves gaming with Alex, and tagging along while he streams over Twitch. You can often find them playing Return of Reckoning, a private server revival of Warhammer Online. You would be most welcome to come and visit them as they stream. You can find them at http://www.twitch.tv/ogalpacalypse. They usually stream on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Be warned that the both are foul-mouthed and sarcastic.
Shannon is sick of talking about herself in the third person. If by some miracle you’ve made it this far, and if by some other strange chance you really have some burning question to ask the author, you can contact her here.
